On the morning of March 21, 2024, Robert “Mike” Taylor passed away peacefully at his home in Moore, Oklahoma. Mike was 74 years old. Bob and Ruby Taylor welcomed their only child into the world on April 8, 1949, in South Gate, California. Mike grew up in California and graduated from Tulare Western High School in 1967. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army. Mike was a Sergeant with the 193rd Infantry Brigade and awarded the Good Conduct Medal. Upon relocating with his parents to Oklahoma, he crossed paths with Rodney Vanderlinde. Together they used their passion, the ability to craft lumber into everlasting beauty through the means of trim carpentry. Mike met his wife, Tanya Son, while working in Oklahoma City. They married on April 9, 1976, and established their home in Moore. Mike and Tanya were blessed with three daughters, Jenny, Wendy, and Sandy. Over the years, Mike would spend his spare time rebuilding a 1941 Chevy 2 door sedan, riding his Harley-Davidson, drag racing his 1967 Chevy Nova, and being a top alcohol dragster enthusiast. He loved music, playing the guitar, and watching football. On September 11, 2004, Mike received his second chance, an organ transplant. He cherished the gift of life he received through organ donation and lived with gratitude every day. Mike is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Tanya; daughter, Jennifer Holbrook and husband John; daughter, Wendy Maritt and husband Chris; daughter, Sandy Taylor; granddaughters, Keira Holbrook, Rayden Maritt, and Kate Holbrook. A special thank you to Mike’s Team, National Foundation for Transplants, and Elara Caring Hospice.
